Att upptäcka kreditkortsbedrägerier: En utvärdering av Gaussian Mixture Model, Isolation Forest och Local Outlier Factor

This thesis evaluates the performance of three unsupervised machine learning models — Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM), Isolation Forest (IF), and Local Outlier Factor (LOF) — for detecting fraudulent credit card transactions. Fraud detection presents significant challenges due to the continuously evolving nature of fraudulent behavior, extreme class imbalance in datasets, and the need to minimize both false positives and false negatives. The models were tested on a large, synthetic dataset designed to simulate real-world credit card transactions. Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Multiple Correspondence Analysis (MCA) were applied for dimensionality reduction. Model performance was assessed using AUC-ROC, AUC-PR, precision, and recall in two separate scenarios: threshold optimization for 80% recall and threshold optimization for F1-score. Results indicate that while all three models are capable of achieving high recall, their precision is extremely low, leading to a high false positive rate. LOF demonstrated the best overall performance, suggesting that local deviations in transaction patterns may be more informative than global anomalies. However, it still lacked sufficient precision for practical implementation. These findings suggest that unsupervised methods alone are insufficient for effective fraud detection and highlight the necessity of hybrid approaches to improve fraud detection. Additionally, integrating fraud prevention strategies can reduce reliance on post-factum fraud detection and enhance overall security.
Blivande svensklärares litterära verktygslåda: En studie i litteratururval på ämneslärarprogrammet i svenska.

Denna uppsats problematiserar och behandlar det spänningsfyllda förhållandet mellan bildning och utbildning. Med utgångspunkt i litteraturlistor hos fyra lärosäten i Sverige som bedriver lärarutbildning, undersöks med kvantitativa metoder om det går att skönja en (inofficiell) kanon. Detta utgör också uppsatsens övergripande fråga och syfte. Därefter resoneras det kring hur detta urval förhåller sig till teorier kring bildning och kanon samt rådande forskning inom fältet. Resultatet av undersökningen visar på att det går att tala om en kanon inom lärarutbildningen som skiljer sig från tidigare etablerade former som härrör till en mer traditionell sådan. Framförallt består den rådande kanon idag av svensk 1900-talslitteratur, en kanon som också traderar en monokulturell skola präglad av, och formad i, en västerländsk kontext. Vidare problematiseras också konsekvenserna av lärarutbildningens litteraturval för den pedagogiska verksamheten i stort, som innefattas häri. I och med att lärarutbildningen är arenan där kommande lärare formas, bildas och utbildas går det av litteraturvalen att skönja en yrkesinstrumentell användning, baserad på kommande yrkesroll, som påverkar litteraturundervisningen även i grund- och gymnasieskolan. Därmed kan vi se att bildning, utbildning och kanon genomsyrar litteraturanvändning och urval på alla nivåer inom utbildningsväsendet.
"En människa är det". En queerdidaktisk analys av Jessica Schiefauers "Pojkarna" och dess möjligheter för arbete med likabehandling i skolan

This text aims to examine how teaching in literature can contribute to the schools work with creating an antidiscriminating environment. When it comes to the Swedish schools antidiscrimination plans, this essay focuses especially on those sections that concerns pupils and student right to their own gender identity and expression. The main theories in this examination are Judith Butler’s theory on gender and performativity, queer theory defined by Fanny Ambjörnsson and theories concerning adolescent psychology with focus on the adolescent identity and it’s forming. Together with Mikhail Bakhtin’s carnival theory the text examines how Jessica Schiefauer’s novel Pojkarna (The Boys; 2012) describes a young adolescent girl’s journey to finding and forming her own gender and sexual identity. The analysis shows how the book visualize three important categories: girl and boy culture, disguise as a subversive act and, finally, the ambivalence within the human. In the didactical analysis Kevin Kumashiro’s antioppressive view on pedagogics is the main theory. This theory, combined with the analysis of the novel, shows how teaching in literature opens up opportunities to read and talk about literature with a norm critical eye, where the queer and intersectional view on “the Other” works as a way to help pupils and students to become more tolerant towards that which isn’t seen as normal or expected, and to humanize words and concepts that otherwise works suppressant.
