Item BRONZE AGE CAIRN & STONE SETTING IN ÄNGGÅRDSBERGEN. 3D modelling using Structure-from-Motion Photogrammetry.(2024-06-14) Karlsson, Albin; University of Gothenburg/Department of Earth Sciences; Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaperSome research has been made on Cairns and Stone settings but no in-depth analysis. The aim was to analyse and do 3D models over a study area of a Cairn and a Stone setting. This was done by using Structure-from-Motion Photogrammetry, and the data (photographs) was collected with a drone and a system camera. Field mapping was done in the area with the human eye. To build the 3D models, DEM, process several maps and statistics, the computer programs Agisoft Metashape, Topography Visualisation Toolbox and ArcGIS Pro was used. Agisoft Metashape was first used to build a dense cloud, dense cloud with point confidence turned on, and a mesh. Next was to build the texture of the model, which is the final 3D model. Later on was also DEM and Orthomosaics produced and exported. When finished with Agisoft Metashape, the mesh layer was used in Topography Visualisation Toolbox to produce different sort of maps. In this report was the blended map in colour used for a good result which shows where in the big Cairn there once was a stone coffin. Thereafter the DEM produced in Agisoft Metashape was used in ArcGIS Pro to do a pre-study in statistical purposes. The tools focal statistics and minus was used to get a better contrast of the Cairn and Stone setting. This data could be used later on for further analysis of the rocks, which could be done manually or by using AI. In the area were a quartz vein and three different kind of rocks found. The rocks found were a medium to coarse-grained granite with a lot of potassium feldspar, a very well foliated granite which have a medium to fine grain size and consists of a lot of potassium feldspar and a coarse-grained pegmatite which also consists of a lot of potassium feldspar. The pegmatite and the quartz vein are not so common in the area, so they have probably come from further away. In the study area have also interpretations been made on the directions and shape of the stone coffin, and which rocks could have been part of the roof/upper part of the stone coffin. Half of the big Cairn has a specific long axis direction and a direction of which the rocks are pointing at. There have also been found some possible quarries nearby.Item Diagnosis and treatment of Acute Lower Limb Ischemia and its effect on(2016-07-12) Karlsson, Albin; University of Gothenburg / Institute of Medicine; Göteborgs universitet / Institutionen för medicinAbstract: Diagnosis and treatment of Acute Lower Limb Ischemia and its effect ion treatment results Degree Project thesis, Programme in Medicine, A. Karlsson, Supervisor; Joakim Nordanstig, 2015, Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg, Sweden. Objective Acute Lower Limb Ischemia (ALLI) is a serious condition where an artery of the lower limb is occluded resulting in impaired blood flow. The condition may lead to death and amputation and require urgent medical care. Aim The purpose of this study was to describe the early chain of care of ALLI patients with particular emphasis on early detection and the use of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) as well as administration of Low Molecular Weight Heparin (LMWH). Methods The study included 108 patients for whom medical records at the Sahlgrenska University Hospital were reviewed. All patients treated with a main diagnosis of I74.3 according to ICD- 10 fulfilled inclusion criteria. Results Patients transported to the Emergency Department (ED) by EMS differed from those who were not in several ways. They were 8.5 years older. A history of congestive heart failure and atrial fibrillation/flutter was more frequent among those who used EMS whereas the opposite was found with regard to previous Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD). The median time from hospital arrival to first physician contact was 52 minutes when ALLI was suspected by the EMS personnel and 102 minutes if not (p=0.017). The time from symptom onset to revascularization was shorter when the EMS personnel suspected ALLI, 17 hours compared to 56 hours when not (p=0.011). Administration of LMWH in the ED tended to be associated with improved outcome. Conclusion Patients who use EMS were older and had a more severe co-morbidity than those who did not. Early detection of ALLI by the EMS personnel was associated with a shorter delay to see a physician and to revascularization. Early treatment with LMWH might be associated with improved outcome.Item “Inkluderande, grön och dynamisk” En undersökning av projektet Masthuggskajen(2022-11-01) Karlsson, Albin; Alakopsa Täll, Joakim; University of Gothenburg/Department of Cultural Sciences; Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för kulturvetenskaperThis thesis examines how the city of Gothenburg and the construction companies involved communicate and market the urban transformation project Masthuggskajen in documents, media and in visual communication. The gathered materials used consist of official documents such as “Vision Älvstaden”, the projects webpage “masthuggskajen.se” and instagram, as well as articles in the local newspaper and other channels for marketing in the media. By looking at how the project is marketed and how it is presented in the media, we found that certain aspects of urban life and the creative class were encouraged and marketed as important. We also argue that certain aspects of the project could possibly lead to a gentrification process in the surrounding area, but also that there are some important things such as public transport that helps reduce the risk of gentrification.
