Item HOPPLÖSHET, FRUSTRATION OCH DRÖMMEN OM ETT BÄTTRE LIV En kvalitativ intervjustudie om unga vuxnas tankar om framtiden i Bosnien-Hercegovina(2018-09-13) Karlsson, Stina; Göteborgs universitet/Statsvetenskapliga institutionen; University of Gothenburg/Department of Political ScienceThe purpose of this study is to analyse how a certain group of young and well-educated citizens in Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina, discuss their aspiration to leave the country after they graduate from the university. The overarching questions are what their driving force is to leave the country and what do they expect of a life abroad. The material used is semi structured interviews with nine individuals. The interview is based on three themes; life in Bosnia and Herzegovina, life abroad and thoughts about the future. The study shows that the majority of the young and well-educated individuals have the wish to leave the country due to the political situation in the country and the possibilities for a better life abroad. The study also shows that the majority of the well-educated youths don’t want to return to Bosnia and Herzegovina. The loss of the well-educated youths will affect the country’s access to human capital and that will have a long-term negative impact on the country’s development. Lärares förhållningssätt till nya krav i läroplanen(Göteborgs universitet, 2022) Karlsson, StinaWith the revision of the Swedish curriculum that takes place on 1 June 2022, the school's responsibility to communicate knowledge about sexuality, consent and relationships to its pupils is further emphasized. Even though the field of knowledge is not new in the Swedish curriculum, it has gone through a significant development in content since it first became a compulsory part of the Swedish curriculum. With an increasingly digitalized and informed society, new challenges follow, and it is perhaps more important than ever that young people gain more knowledge in matters of sexuality, relationships and not least consent. An active effort by the National Agency for Education to meet these challenges is to delegate the field of knowledge to teachers in all common subjects in upper-secondary school. The purpose of this study is to investigate how teachers of religious education at upper-secondary level perceive that they can contribute knowledge about sexuality, consent and relationships in their teaching. Based on Luce Irigaray's theory on gendered language, this study aims to find out what approaches’ teachers have to knowledge, and to see how this effect their content when involving sexuality, consent and relationships into the subject of religious education. This survey is a qualitative study, and the material has been collected through semi-structured interviews with teachers in religious education at upper secondary level in western Sweden. The study shows that teachers have a positive attitude towards including sexuality, consent and relationships in their teaching, in that they find it important that the school addresses the subject. However, exactly what and how to include it in the religious education is not clear. Thus, depending on personal interest and expertise in the subject, the teachers find different strategies to include it in their teaching.Item ”Som en alien i ett par för små skor”En kvalitativ studie om hur missbrukare upprätthåller sin värdighet(2009-01-14T13:20:01Z) Ismail, Rezhna; Karlsson, Stina; Göteborg University/Department of Social Work; Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för socialt arbeteAim: The aim of this study was to examine whether addicted in society maintain their personal dignity. Many studies about this issue have been focused on how hard it is to be an addicted, but few have focused on how an addicted handle this situation. Our preconception before this study was that addicts are a stigmatized group not treated with dignity. With this as starting point, our aim has been to let the addicted with their own words describe how they handle their situation and witch strategies they use to uphold their dignity. Method: A qualitative approach is used; we have condicted five semi structured in- depth interviews. The information we have obtained through interviews, we have in the analysis weighed against the theories we believe are relevant to our preconception. We have then categorized the collected information after those themes we found central in the interviews and which we have found can be related to the main questions of this study. Result: The results show many strategies about how people with drug- and alcohol abuse handle their situation. Among others it shows that occupation or work is an important strategy to maintain the personal dignity. Personal self-esteem and how one is regarded by others, is not of less importance concerning how the addict looks at him self and his abuse. To some extent, our preliminary opinion (i.e. that addicts are stigmatized) was confirmed, but was also challenged. It depends on the situation whether the addict becomes stigmatized or not.
