    Background The usage of Nutrition supplement in the elderly care is commonly occurring and plays an important role in the intake of nutrition for the elderly. The usage of nutrition supplement is to reduce malnutrition within elderly care. For the elderly it is crucial to keep a healthy diet and to never lose weight. The loss of weight can be very dangerous it could even be fatal for the aged and should therefore be avoided. To have a diet that is rich in energy such as enriched meals prevents the elderly from receiving a shortage of calories since the diet is rich in fat, protein and thus also rich in energy. Semi-structured-interviews were made together with employees at the homes and structured-interviews were used together with the elderly. Aim In this study the main objective were to examine workers’ and elderlies’ perceptions of homemade and premade nutrition supplements. Results Since the premade supplement is rich in many essential minerals and vitamins and at the same time rich with energy many workers find it hard to replace this with a homemade drink. Some workers who work close to the food at the kitchen do believe there could be a usage of homemade supplements to some extends. Conclusions Flavor and a great meal for elderly is an important key factor when it comes to stimulate appetite and thus also reduce malnourishment. A homemade drink can be used in order to
