Kartor till ödeläggelsen. Retrogressiv kartanalys av den senmedeltida ödeläggelsen i Dals-Ed och Töftedals socken.
(2025-04-28) Seeholm, Felicia; University of Gothenburg / Department of Historical Studies; Göteborgs universitet / Institutionen för historiska studier
The black death had major societal impacts and is to this day the pandemic infectious diseases are compared to. Less often are the deserted farms discussed, which are physical traces of the late-medieval crisis following the black death. After 700 years the traces are often fragmented but can still be discovered. The aim of this essay is to identify unknown deserted farms in the parishes of Dals-Ed and Töftedal in Dalsland. To achieve this, the retrogressiv method is used to analyze maps from the 17th century and onwards. The maps of 13 farms are studied, of which 11 showed strong indication of previously being a late-medieval deserted farm.
