    Socioekonomiska och Demografiska Faktorers Påverkan på Adoptering av Miljösubventioner - En Studie om Adoptionen av Ladda-Hemma-Stödet i Sverige mellan 2018 och 2021

    Several studies have shown that there has been a change in the climate on earth because of how people have been living. One of the activities that have had a large negative impact on the climate is the use of cars running on fossil fuels. In 2018 the “charge-at-home” subsidy was introduced in Sweden to expedite the transition to electric cars to lower the negative impact of transportation on the earth’s climate. The introduced subsidy lowers the cost of installation and material for newly bought charging stations both for private persons and organizations between 2018 and 2021. Multiple studies have investigated the impact of various introduced subsidies on getting the effect on transition. However, there exists a gap in how subsidies are adopted differently in societies, by who and where. This study is, consequently, investigating how the charge-at-home subsidy has been adopted in Sweden differently by different municipalities and why this might have been the case. The result of the study shows that there have been big differences in how Charge-at-home subsidy in Sweden has been adopted by different municipalities between 2018 and 2021. The differences are in some cases as large as several hundred Swedish crowns per citizen between municipalities. Further, a number of variables seem to explain these differences, as for instance, educational level, urban environments, immigrants, living situation, charging infrastructure and the already existing proportion of chargeable cars. The result of the study shows that variables such as the educational level, the public charging infrastructure and the share of rechargeable cars within a municipality all have a positive significant effect on the amount of subsidies received.
