T This master thesis concerns the subject of application portfolio management. Today, major organisations have many information systems that form a very mixed collection of different systems and system connections. A common problem today is how to handle and gain control of this great number of systems. One way to handle this problem can be to use a management methodology. Using a case study performed at Volvo Car Corporation and literature studies, a model was developed in order to solve the problem. The methodology provides guidelines for handling current and future application portfolios. When creating the methodology we proceeded from the need of dynamic documentation, the life cycle and the application business contribution.swe
