This thesis deals mainly with the management-philosophy âKnowledge Managementâ. The question is if we can speak about knowledge management without make clear what knowledge and management are and how they relate to one another? Because of the unclearness around the concept of knowledge management today we want to find out what knowledge management is and give a foundation for understanding and clearness for present and future studies. By discussing three questions, have lead us to the conclusion that knowledge management summarises among other things by those tools, methods and philosophies used to create, share, develop and organise knowledge within an organisation. The questions are (1) what goals, visions and directions guides knowledge management, (2) which patterns are relevant when you organising knowledge, (3) how do you measure and value your actions effects and difficulties. We have discovered two theories used both in the literature and in reality. These theories are the humanoriented theory and the systemoriented theory. The strategies for knowledge management that we have discovered are: * Routine hierarchical strategy * Tribe hierarchical strategy * Professional network strategy * Social network strategy According to our study we can conclude that this model seems to have enough empirical support.swe
