| dc.description.abstract | Seven universities involved in teaching pharmacy on a bachelor and/or master level in Sweden are members of the National Council. During the time of the project, 1 November 2006 to 31 December 2007, the council has been dealing with some important issues concerning pharmaceutical education in Sweden. Agreements concerning learning outcomes for courses in the curriculum have been achieved, as well as agreement on competences needed for admission to the pharmacy programmes and postgraduate studies. The main aim of the work of the network has been to coordinate the programmes at the different universities in order to develop pharmacy education in Sweden and to establish quality assurance procedures nationally. An agreement has been made on a three level grading for all pharmacy education nationally not passed, passed and well passed. The Council has discussed and came to an agreement on what competences will be needed for admission to the future pharmacy programmes, a decision that had influence on the final decision by the Swedish National Agency for higher education. The Council has further taking part in teaching and professional development of the competence of the students supervisors at the pharmacies in order to improve quality assurance of the students pharmacy practice. The Council has developed a website to be used nationally during the students practice in a pharmacy. The mobility of the students between the different schools of pharmacy and the possibility to study parts of a pharmacy programme at another university, has also been an issue for the Council. For all pharmacists the Council has decided that the competence needed for admission to the four years postgraduate studies to PhD should be at least 4 years undergraduate studies. | swe |
