The Network for Higher Arts Education in the Bologna Process was created with the support of the Swedish NSHU (Myndigheten för nätverk och samarbete inom högre utbildning) - The Authority for Networking and Cooperation within Higher Education. The need for such a network was, in many respects, due to the Swedish Higher Education Reform: New World New University, otherwise known as the Swedish Bologna reform. It was in the poll for this reform that a special artistic degree, common to every discipline in the arts, was introduced. In many ways, this network has been unique in its cross-disciplinary benchmarking of the arts. Links between art forms, which were previously impossible, have been established. This network has had two meetings, one in Gothenburg (2 days) and one in Stockholm (2 days). Its small secretariat has also linked this network to other networks both in Sweden and abroad.swe
