Improving the quality of your metadata
Abstract
This presentation will outline solutions for typical problems that arise with the quality of an
institution’s repository metadata.
Metadata present in a repository usually originates from different sources. This can
include metadata from legacy systems e.g. migrating data from an older, to be replaced,
repository platform, or an online source such as PubMed or ISI WoK. Another important
source of repository metadata are authors manually submitting records. The metadata
retrieved from these sources has not necessarily been created by Metadata experts, or
might not comply to your application profile.
