Abstract

certain building or environment can get a protection as a notable building if it contains certain values. These values are established by a certain category of people from the cultural sector. These people use established criterions to define the cultural value of the object. The objects can be evaluated differently depending on who has done the evaluation. The people who protect the cultural environment and choose which buildings that are to be defining as notable buildings often uses a special model to characterise the different cultural values. This model is produced by a man called Axel Unnerbäck. Notable buildings is protected by chapter three in Kulturminneslagen. The aim of this law is to get a strong and long lasting protection of the notable buildings. There is though a possibility that the value could change over time. There seem to be some buildings that are named as notable building although they don’t seem to contain the contemporary value from the cultural sector. Some notable buildings seems to have a protection against the opinion of what the value is today according to the cultural sector. There could be some reason for the opinion of an unwarranted law protection. I have investigated if this protection is endurable over time.
