This report is about the exam project; Blomgren- a collection of patterns. During eight weeks I have from the family Blomgren, who was my grandfather’s family with siblings and parents, produced five patterns for textiles into interior and space. In addition to the family as an inspiration, I have taken into account of the collection’s name - as a word and the meaning of the word. The project’s objective has been to learn more about patterns of creation and how to make a repetition from an illustration and story. I have felt that my knowledge of making patterns was a bit vague. The questions that have lead me through my work has been: 1) How important is it that the colors match? 2) Which techniques are allowed while making patterns? 3) What can I tell about the Blomgren family? The whole project has been an experiment with colors, objects and different shapes. I have learned more about the process and a lot more about making patterns, which was the most important part of my goal.sv
