The main purpose of the present study was to collect Swedish norm data for the comprehension scale of the Reynell Developmental Language Scales (RDLS III) for the ages of 4:6-4:11. According to the British manual the degree of difficulty increases gradually and therefore the order of the sections was examined to see whether this was the case in Swedish. The study also examined the relationship between the test results and shared book reading. A total of 88 children and their caregivers participated in the study. The participants were recruited from preschools in Göteborg and Mölndal. The results showed an increase in the mean values of test results for the ages of 4:6-4:7 and 4:8-4:9. The study showed that the sections were not increasing in difficulty and an alteration of the order of the sections is consequently recommended. No significant correlation between test results and shared book reading was found.sv
