The purpose of the study was to examine if parents' way of communicating with their children changed after participation in ComAlongcommunication course, and if changes remained over time. The study involved 39 parents of 25 children with communicative disabilities. 33 of the parents had participated in ComAlong, the other six had not participated, but had a partner who had participated in the course. Video recorded parentchild interaction was analyzed and coded with the instrument KOMMUNIKATIV. Results showed that parents used a significantly more responsive communication style and used significantly more augmentative and alternative communication after ComAlong. This result remained in a follow-up investigation. Parents who had not participated in ComAlong demonstrated no such change. The study suggests that ComAlong may be associated with a positive communication change for parents of children with communicative disabilities.sv
