dc.description.abstract | In the vehicle industry there has been a constant transformation from mechanical
and hydraulic control systems to computer-based systems over the last two
decades; this transformation contributed to the foundation of telematics systems.
The main objective of this report is to explore how the current generation of mobile
devices may interact with embedded and purpose-built systems. We develop a prototype
application that uses wireless two-way communication for remote interaction, and
based on a literature study where appropriate quality attributes are identified, we reflect
on the design experience and suggest an architecture for similar telematics-to-mobile
devices solutions. | sv |
