art.description.projectGeneral: Strategies of Magic is a lecture performance which discusses the concept of magic in relation to political and philosophical questions regarding power structures, hierarchies of knowledge, identity and gender. Here, the lecture is intertwined with poetry, music and magic where the purpose is to reveal rather than disguise the trick. Through the examination of the difference between trickery and transformation, this piece aims to bring out the human potential of making the impossible possible. Strategies of Magic #2: Given the special set-up of the arrangement where people were continuously moving through the house, I had isolated and developed a number of magic tricks which were performed in the bar/lounge of the theater every 20 minutes throughout the evening, each announced by a male voice-over, delivering different observations about the nature and the conditions of the illusionist. The magicians assistant on this occasion was Clara Lopez.sv
