Jesu uppståndelse: centralt tema eller detalj? En jämförelse av framställningen av Jesu uppståndelse i 12 läromedel för gymnasiet
Abstract
The following study pertains to investigate the Christian belief in the resurrection of Jesus as it is portrayal in text books aimed at the course Religion 1 for Swedish upper secondary school. The study was carried out by looking at 12 selected books meant to function as teaching aids suitable for the course. The methodology covers both qualitative and quantitative aspects. The study shows that the topic of the resurrection is dealt with in a rather
neutral fashion. A survey of the evidence does not give credence to the notion that the text
length assigned to the resurrection, in any way gives greater importance to the resurrection
being of superior value as an Christian article of faith.
The results are further discussed, and suggestions are given for how the
resurrection of Jesus can function as a didactic tool for the purpose of teaching Christianity
for Swedish speaking upper secondary school pupils, in agreement and harmony with the
Swedish syllabus. Moreover, the great majority of the books describe the resurrection event as
being at the core of Christian belief; however, this is not fully consistent with how the
doctrine is laid out in the books. The material relevant to the resurrection is dispersed through
out the chapters, and only a handful books mention the resurrection in the text introduction, as well as in headlines. The implications of this is that the resurrection, albeit important, is not
fully emphasized as it should be, in light of its importance for the historic Christian faith.
