This study is designed to investigate whether there is any difference between learning from film or from person to person. The purpose of this study is to analyze how students experience different learning situations and what advantages and disadvantages they can see. The study will make use of literary studies, observations and interviews. The empirical material that emerges from the observations and interviews will be the basis for the analysis and results. The study is divided into two parts, each consisting of an observation and follow-up interviews. The observation will be done in two different groups where participants will learn “nålbinding” by a person or film. Afterward the participants are interviewed on how they perceived the different ways to learn and how they learn the best. The conclusion of this study is that film may very well be used in the learning of handicrafts but that it should primarly be seen as a complement to the person to person knowledge transfer. A film cannot completely replace the person. The difference that arises between learning from a person and learned from a film is both good and bad. Those who are taught by the film takes a lot more initiative than those who learn from a person, in order that they do not have someone they can ask for help and therefore they try to find answers in a alternative way . It makes it faster to get an understanding on how the crafts are working. Those who learn from a person, however, may put words to the problem that arises and learn why to use the words that belong to the craft in a natural way. What knowledge is most important is not to be determined in this study.sv
