HR TRANSFORMATION IN A PUBLIC SECTOR ORGANISATION - The Emergence of new roles and competencies
Abstract
This paper aims to explore new HR roles and competences in a public sector
organisation after a reformation process in a local HR department. The study
follows a qualitative research approach based on semi-structural interviews. The
findings suggest that HR roles and competencies within the public sector will
continue to evolve, while the role of functional specialists will increase, leading
the function towards specialisation. The study does not provide generalisable
findings, since it is based on a single case study and more research is required.
