dc.description.abstract | The following Bachelor´s thesis is analyzing and comparing the execution of Denmark´s and Sweden´s present security policy. The analysis is based on prevalent theorys within
international relations; liberalism, realism and social constructivism in consort with an
analysis tool created by Professor Wilhelm Agrell. The basis behind this study is to
understand how these two neighboring countries execute their security policy when dealing with the deterioated military security in Europe since 2014 until the prsent. The foundation of this study is built on a quantitative text analysis approach. Through gathering official documents, articles, government bills and budgets, it has been observed that both Sweden and
Denmark are characterized by a liberal security policy. Despite the similarity of liberal values, Denmark and Sweden execute their security policy differently. The main points that outline and help support this explaination for this political outcome are different and socially constructed contemplations of the current threat level. | sv |
