Aims and objectives: The purpose of this study is to gain a better understanding of how the school system proactively works towards unaccompanied boys, have sought asylum in Sweden and how to ensure they will not end up or be exposed to criminality. The intention has thus been to write about how the school system conveys information about the society and social skills that may exist in the “Swedish” culture, for unaccompanied boys. Method and data: The study has an ethnographic approach and was conducted as a qualitative study where the material was gathered as a result of observations and interviews held at two high schools in the western parts of Sweden. Results: The study indicates that the pedagogues have varied professional skills and expertise. However, this has not had any crucial impact on how pedagogues have contributed and been able to convey information to the unaccompanied boys' understanding on the structure of the Swedish society. However, what turned out to be significant was more about the pedagogues values and their understanding related to human beings in general. This has been revealed in the meeting between the pedagogues and the boys on how pedagogues have managed the boys' needs and well-being.sv
