Att känna som en pilgrim. Vad pilgrimer uttrycker på internetforumet Camino de Santiago ur ett emotionssociologiskt perspektiv

To feel like a pilgrim. What pilgrims express on the Internet forum Camino de Santiago from a sociology of emotions perspective

Abstract
This thesis/dissertation examines the pilgrim community on the forum at www.caminodesantiago.me through the use of Riis and Woodheads sociology of emotions model. Since the object of study is an internet forum, a nethnographic method was used to collect and categorize data. Theories from the field of internet studies was also used to understand how religion is used in an online context, and in relation to the offline world. The result shows that internet forums can function as a religious community with its own emotional regime which contains norms, values and narratives that the members of the community externalize in threads on the forum. The forum members gains from the membership in the forum a community which support and strengthen their identity as pilgrims.
