The main purpose of this study was to understand the coach-parent relationship in women’s artistic gymnastics. Four semi-structured interviews with one coach and three mothers, of which one was also a coach were conducted. The results of this study show that generally, the overlap between the mothers’ and the coaches’ assumptions and believes is very close. Parents feel comfortable approaching the coach and discussing their concerns at anytime. Coaches are happy to talk with the parents, hear their concerns and are willing to adjust their coaching methods if they agree with parents and find it useful for their coaching. Coaches and parents believe that good communication between them is very important for success of their child. Child’s mental and physical health is prioritized over good achievements in this club. Results of this research show that WAG does not need to be a sport, which should be avoided by parents and athletes due to the reputation of unethical and abusive coaching methods, which exist nowadays.sv
