This bachelor thesis aims to examine the difference in how the representation of the EU to the G8 is represented in the media of the United Kingdom which have a national representation in the G8 as well as the common representation of the EU and Sweden which does not have any national representation in the G8 but only the common representation of the EU. The thesis will also examine how much the media coverage in Sweden changed when the state occupied the presidency of the European Council and if there are changes to be seen in the media coverage since the entry into force of the Treaty of Lisbon. Using the chosen characteristics of actorness it is possible to see the differences in how the representation of the EU to the G8 is represented in the media of the United Kingdom and Sweden. It is also possible to see that the media coverage has got higher since the Lisbon Treaty entered into force and that becoming President of the European Council created higher media coverage from Sweden.sv
