This essay uses discourse analysis to consider the gender and transinclusive readings of biblical passages from Genesis, Deuteronomy and Isaiah that have emerged from contemporary queer theology. The essay presents how queer theology, using classical methods, implies that the purpose of the selected passages is not to exclude transgendered and queer people from theology and church congregations. It also presents queer readings with transgender and queer perspectives on the passages and relates the readings to experiences of queer lives. The queer understanding of the creation story in Genesis includes all genders and explores different understandings of gender and androgyny in relation to the first human being and God. The queer readings of Deuteronomy discuss understandings of the whole and holy body, the Christian use of Deuteronomy and the eunuck as a cultural and religious stranger. The queer readings of Isaiah embrace the promise of divine justice for the marginalised as a promise to queer communities of justice and God´s everlasting love and care.sv
