Förbön i Pauli brev och i "Kyrkans förbön". En jämförande studie av förböner i Paulus brev och i Svenska kyrkans handböcker 1986 och 2016

Intercessory prayers in the letters of St. Paul and in the "Kyrkans förbön". A comparative study of intercessory prayers in the letters of St. Paul and in the Swedish Church handbooks 1986 and 2016

Abstract
The goal of this research is to investigate if a thread exists, from how intercessory prayers were written in Paul’s letters to today’s liturgy in the Swedish Church. The main question this research aims to answer is: Does text or specific words in the intercessory prayers in Paul’s letters correlate with the intercessory prayers in the liturgy texts of the “Kyrkans förbön” in Den svenska kyrkohandboken (1986) and within the Förslag till kyrkohandbok för Svenska kyrkan (2016)? Moreover, does continuous threads exists of intercessory prayers in the Swedish Church handbooks from 1942 until 2016. Method literary criticism and comparative analysis have been used to analyze this thread. These questions can be answered, and the results show, that there exists seven intercessory prayers, in Philem vers 6; Phil 1:9–11; Rom 10:1; 15:5–6; 15:13; 1 Thess 3:11–13; 5:23–24. Using the comparative method, these seven intercessory prayers are analyzed and compared with six prayers in “Kyrkans förbön” in the liturgical handbooks from 1986 and 2016. There exists passages within Paul’s intercessory prayers that also exist today. The sharpest thread we see today is in the litany intercession from year 1541, prayer 8 (2016), and we see the following words: faith, love, pray/prayer, become, and the subject God is described with various attributes.
