RISK, KOSTNAD OCH DATAINSAMLING En cost-benefit-analys av abortstatistik i Sverige.

Abstract
With the recent upswing of using Big Data there is a growing discussion going on whether or not one should in fact use Big Data and, if so, when it is ethical to use and how it affects the integrity of the individual whose information is collected. This normative bachelor’s thesis explores the risk taken on the integrity of the individual in the case of spread information collected by using Big Data, as well as the cost of not using it applied on the case of abortion statistics in Sweden. By studying big data, risk theory, and their ethical dilemmas the study reaches an answer on whether or not one should use big data, by applying cost-benefit analysis on the case. Based on thoroughly collected information on the case, the study reaches the answer that one should in fact be able to use big data when it comes to abortion statistics in Sweden since the risk does not outweigh the cost of lost information and to that also when it comes to cases with similar ethical debating in contexts similar to those in Sweden.
