This essay examines the dominance of male homoerotic love stories in fanfiction (AKA slash). Through meetings and interviews with five female slash writers and extracts from their pornographic stories this essay will discuss the young women’s options, actions and thoughts around sexuality, fantasy and identification today. Why do so many women choose to focus on male love stories and what does this do with the subject, the object and the body? With scholars like Camille Bacon-Smith and Suzanne Moore the study will develop the concept of the female gaze in slash as a subversive gaze against the patriarchal vision in mainstream media and pornography. Elizabeth Woledges concept of Intimatopia and Anja Hirdmans thought on affect theory will be guidelines in analyzing the textual excerpts. The results show how slash is a way for women to explore sex, without the limits and taboo the female body brings, and how breaking stereotypical masculine behavior, psychically and mentally, is rewarding when creating exciting stories.sv
