The Superorganism
Summary
Group exhibition of artists working with sculpture in the expanded field.
Supported by
Galleri Box 30,000 SEK från Göteborg Stad Kultur, Statens Kulturråd, Snowball Cultural Productions
Description of project
The group exhibition takes it ́s departure in the research project sculptureHUB that Josefina Posch conducted in 2016 supported by the Nordic Culture Point, focusing on women sculptors in the Nordic region and beyond. Expanding upon the findings a group exhibition was curated that explored the expanding field of sculpture, as investigated by artists from Sweden, UK, Norway and Canada.
Excerpt from curatorial text:
With sculpture as a starting point, the exhibition becomes a cross section where artistic practices that in different ways address space, the object and materiality, exist in synergy. The artworks act as embodiments of questions as well as responses to different cultural and natural phenomena; bronies, cruisers, cars, society, power, bees, materiality, the universe, what it means to be alive today and the end of the world.
