art.description.project | ”Because of the new technology, which was no longer compatible with older technology, one day my digital works of art ceased to function. My older publications that took form as programs and net art became books and I trained myself as a bookbinder. I combined an old craft with contemporary techniques and encoding.”
A book and exhibition about my digital and analog publications, 2000-2016. The project aims to look into how old technology can be exhibited with contemporary technology. Many of my digital artworks didn’t function with contemporary technology and I had to remake them into new artworks. Some of the digital artworks was remade into analog forms as books, written code or objects. Artworks made to be compatible with tomorrows technology. The project resulted in knowledge about how to archive digital art and it developed experience and knowledge about physical material in relation to technology in terms of time, bit rot, and obsolete media. The project was researching on different ways to exhibit interactive art and books in exhibitions.
The project was exhibited in Antipyrine Bookstore (Kunsthall Aarhus), 2017-05-31 – 2017-08-31 | sv |
