Attitudes towards the euro can be explained by different factors both on the contextual level and on the individual level. Earlier research tend to focus regarding attitudes towards the euro on the omparison between countries within the Eurozone with countries outside the Eurozone. Due to the most recent financial crisis there is a lot of evidence that the Eurozone is not a homogeny. Therefore there is reasons to believe that factors explaining attitudes towards the euro differs depending on which part of the Eurozone is in focus. The purpose of this essay is to broaden the understanding about attitudes towards the euro and that individual factors have a different effect on attitudes towards the euro in South Europe compared to the remaining countries of the Eurozone. The results of my logistical regression analysis shows that individual factors regarding identity have a much stronger effect on attitudes towards the euro in South Europe than in the remaining countries of the Eurozone. Even though economic factors did not differ in effect as much as expected between South Europe and the remaining countries of the Eurozone it is still relevant to understand the complexity behind the formation of attitudes in the Eurozone.sv
