dc.description.abstractThis thesis is an attempt to document some of the existing methods and techniques used by active carpenters when shifting damaged wood on timber logs. The method of cutting out damaged wood in existing walls is a common method in restoration carpentry. However is not well documented or described in Nordic literature. The information was mainly collected by interviewing active carpenters from different whereabouts in Sweden. The interview consisted of two parts. An inquiry sheet and a practical application were the informants preformed a small log repair on a sample surface. Their methods and techniques were then compared and displayed in the result chapter of this thesis.sv
