The purpose of this paper is to investigate if organizational culture can create prerequisite for gender equality in a recruitment and staffing agency and in which way organizational culture can affect women to advance to leading positions. The study is based on a qualitative method. To collect the empirical data, 12 interviews of both men and women in different positions in a case company was done. By analyzing the results from the interviews with theory, based on the connection between organizational culture and gender equality, the study shows that there are three prerequisites, which can affect women’s possibilities to advance to higher positions. The conclusion is a compilation of these three prerequisites. The first prerequisite is the corporate climate, which has affected the employee’s way of acting. The other prerequisite is how cultural management control seems to affect the agency in a positive way. The last prerequisite is how the organizational culture takes place in practice and how it shows in the agency’s structure. The study shows that the case company has many leaders, which has decreased the power structures. Additionally, they use internal recruitment when recruiting leaders, which seems to affect women’s possibilities to advance to higher positions. These prerequisites seems to have broken the organization’s glass ceiling on a high level.sv
