The choice to define gender equality through these dimensions is based on the ambition so cover large areas of gender equality matters. The question throughout the thesis is furthermore: How does democracy affect gender equality?. The study concludes that if you study the democracy level year x it will have a positive influence on gender equality year x+1, no matter the dimension. What differs is to what extent democracy influences gender equality, although the conclusion brings the answer that democracy de facto affects all matters of gender equality.
