Even though the support for the European Union is stronger than ever before, there is a today a polarization between EU-sceptics and EU-supporters. Euroscepticism is today practiced by European parties on both ends of the political left–right scale, emerging in an anti-globalist Euroscepticism and an anti-capitalist Euroscepticism. Despite belonging to different party families, the Sweden Democrats and the Left Party unite in the Eurosceptic sphere. This thesis examines the two parties’ development respectively between 2014-2019 regarding criticism towards the EU, and then compares the two parties’ criticism in 2019 in order to find similarities and differences between them. The results show some attitude changes during the time period within both parties and that the parties have similar stances on intergovernmentalism. Their criticism differ in many aspects, for example concerning migration, environmental policies and gender politics.sv
