dc.description.abstract | This thesis is about dance and social media. It explores how social media can be
used as a space for contemporary dance performance. It is written from the
perspective and explorations of the contemporary dancer Eva Svaneblom, that has
created improvised performances with the smartphone screen (and social media) as
her muse. Instagram and YouTube are the two main social media platforms from
where the research has taken its stance. Except from existing within dance and
improvisation it draws inspiration from selfie culture, feminism, geography and
nature. | sv |
