important demographicofthework-forceandarecontributing
members totheirworkenvironments,howeverthereisstilla
significant gender-gapinmanyfieldsincludingsoftwareengi-
neering.Thegendergapinpositionsoftechnicalleadership
in softwaredevelopmentisevenlargerdespitethecomparable
performancebetweenmen-andwomen-ledstart-ups.Thisstudy
aims toinvestigatethecauseofthelackoffemalerepresentation
in technicalleadershippositionsinsoftwaredevelopmentby
examining thepathsfemaletechnicalleadershavetaken,the
barriers orobstaclestheyhavefacedandthewaysinwhichthey
