| dc.description | The aim of this study was to investigate five-year-old children and their guardians' views and thoughts on the use of pictorial support within child healthcare in the Västra Götaland region, as well as their experiences and thoughts about the pictorial support that is attached to the invitation to the health review at the age of five. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 22 children and questionnaire data were collected from 26 guardians. Interview data were transcribed and analysed with content analysis and questionnaire data were analysed thematically. The results showed that pictorial support worked as a support, increased understanding and feeling of preparation in both groups. Furthermore, the children's participation increased during their health visit. This indicates that pictorial support strengthens children's rights in healthcare settings in line with the Convention on the Rights of the Child and should be continually used. | dc.description.abstract | Syftet med föreliggande studie var att undersöka femåriga barn och deras vårdnadshavares uppfattningar och tankar kring användandet av bildstöd i barnhälsovården i Västra Götalandsregionen. Vidare ämnade studien undersöka deras erfarenheter, upplevelser och tankar om det bildstöd som bifogas med inbjudan till hälsobesöket på barnavårdscentral vid fem år. Semistrukturerade intervjuer genomfördes med 22 femåriga barn och enkätdata samlades in från 26 vårdnadshavare. Intervjudata transkriberades och analyserades med innehållsanalys och enkätdata analyserades tematiskt. Resultaten visade att bildstöd fungerade som ett stöd för både barn och vårdnadshavare och bidrog till ökad förståelse och känsla av förberedelse inför hälsobesöket hos båda grupperna. Det framgick att barnen fick en ökad delaktighet i hälsobesöket. Resultaten pekar på att bildstöd inom barnhälsovården stärker barns rättigheter inom hälso- och sjukvården, i linje med barnkonventionen. Fynden indikerar att användandet av bildstöd inom barnhälsovården bör fortsättas med. Det finns ett behov av vidare forskning. | sv |
