Brexit and the UK´s withdrawal from the EU has among many other things lead to new regulations concerning fisheries management. The referendum campaign in favour of Leave built its case around arguments without any concern about the truth, bullshit. Through a qualitative text analysis, the thesis studies the view from different stakeholders and presents their opinions on how to regulate fisheries when the UK enters the post EU era as an independent coastal nation. It investigates the expectations of the industry and of the government concerning on how to translate the result of the referendum into political decisions and agreements. By following the emerging Fisheries Act in the Hansard, the communication efforts from the big organizations in the fishing industry, the Scottish Fishermen´s Federation (SFF) and The National Federation of Fishermen´s Organizations (NFFO), New Under Ten Fishermen´s Association NUTFA and one environmental NGO Greenpeace it reflects the expectations on the new Fisheries Act, looking particularly how these expectations were managed through the use of political bullshit. A picture of an unbalanced industry with very divergent needs emerges during the processing of the regulation as well as the utterly complex nature of fisheries management.sv
