Tillitsbaserad styrning: implementering och arbetsmiljö. En kulturanalytisk undersökning med fokus på kommunala kulturförvaltningar.
Abstract
The study is based on the questions: What does trust-based management mean in daily work?
Has trust-based management led to any changes in the work environment? How has the
implementation of trust-based management been conducted?
The respondents have a theoretical understanding of trust-based management, but sometimes
lacking in the connection to practical application. Trust-based management has brought an
increase in maneuverability and creativity, greater trust, and reduced measurements of work
tasks.
The implementation has been conducted “from the top down”, which has raised concerns that
it is but a temporary trend that can be replaced in the event of a political change of power. The
answers indicate that the implementation is a “lip service,” as the workplace culture and
leadership has not changed. At the same time, there are signs that the trust-based management
philosophy has had an impact.
The respondents are aware of what constitutes a good work environment, but the extent to which
trust-based management has had an impact on their own work environment differs. For some,
not much has changed, but aspects of trust-based management are nevertheless part of a good
work environment for them.
