This thesis has analysed six moss species, their morphology, habitat, and maintenance. The purpose of this were to see if they can be used to create a moss garden and how to maintain it. An inventory was made in the author’s vicinity to see which species were the most common. The species were, broom fork-moss (Dicranum scoparium), common haircap (Polytrichum commune), cypress-leaved plait-moss (Hypnum cupressiforme), glittering wood-moss (Hylocomium splendens), redstemmed feather-moss (Pleurozium schreberi), and springy turf-moss (Rhytidiadelphus squarrosus). Further in the essay is a more extensive part about the fore-mention species’ description and habitual requirements, and if these mosses can be used in a garden.en_US
