Allt bara försvann – en studie av KP-webbens forum som kulturarv

Abstract
The purpose of this thesis is to examine the cultural practices of children on the internet forum known as KP-webben (2007-2012) from the perspective of a cultural heritage. A decade after its closing the social and cultural impact of the forum is at a risk of being lost, pointing to known issues in the preservation of born digital heritage. The forum’s status as children’s culture is also discussed as a risk factor in the prioritization of digital heritage preservation. By collecting memories of the forum from former members, through a questionnaire, as well as analyzing the media coverage of the closing of the forum in 2012, we aim to present ways in which the story of KP-webben may yet be preserved. Through this we also suggest ways in which traditional analog research methods can be applied for the preservation of digital heritage.
