dc.description.abstract | This paper uses a survey to estimate the proportion a unionized painter spends on different
product cathegories. The result is used together with data from SCB (Statistics Sweden)
to estimate a consumer price index for this group. The estimated value for the unionized
painters is later compared with the official value SCB calculates. The paper shows that the
unionized painters had a 0.38 percentage points higher inflation than the official value which
SCB calculated in 2021. The main causes for this are that painters as a group spends more
money on accommodation, transport and food compared to the national mean. These product
cathegories have had relatively high price increase in 2021. The paper also shows that the
painters that use their private car at work are making a loss in doing so. | en_US |
