Abstract
The essay deals with the refugees 'experiences and stories to examine the refugees' conditions for post-secondary education in Sweden. The essay examines these conditions on the basis of the right to self-determination, which is a complicated and comprehensive concept, which in that case means the refugees' right to power over their lives with regard to their surroundings. The study also deals with the lives of Syrian refugees. Changes that may have affected that right through the focus are placed on the Syrian refugees who came to Sweden during the last wave of refugees and 2014-2016. The purpose of the study is to examine the conditions that refugees face in order to understand how this affects the refugees' right to self-determination for post-secondary education in Sweden.
