dc.description.abstract | Background and problem: The Covid-19-pandemic has led to changes in society and
resulted in companies having to change their work location-based environment to a more
distant work environment which in turn affected the business management. The Swedish
Public Health Agency introduced restrictions which, among other things, consisted of
distant work in order to reduce the spread of infection since people are in the need of
adapting their way of life. Digitization is an important aspect for many organizations,
which can lead to more efficient operations but also to improved communication.
Purpose: The study aims to gain an understanding of how business management and
the work environment have been affected by the restrictions in the private and public
sector, when they were introduced in conjunction with the Covid-19-pandemic and
also after the cessation. The purpose is also to provide an account of how the Covid-19
pandemic-related restrictions affected companies both during and after the cessation of
restrictions.
Method: This study has been carried out with a qualitative research method with an
inductive approach and semi-structured interviews with six different companies in the
private and public sector, which have created the thesis’ empirical material.
Analysis and conclusion: The results of this study show that the companies during
the Covid-19-pandemic have adapted by changing the management of the business and
the work environment. In most cases, the companies have found effective solutions to
these complications, which in turn steer them towards their goals to the same degree as
before the pandemic. After the pandemic, the companies have learned lessons and retained
certain "solutions" to achieve the goals to an even greater degree than before the
pandemic. Solutions and measures related to the restrictions have left a mark that benefits
the businesses in their new way of conducting business.
For further research: A survey of six companies with respondents who hold different
tasks, means that a small part of the area has been studied. Suggestions for further research
may be to examine how companies take advantage of the changes that have taken
place during the pandemic, after the restrictions have ceased. | en_US |
