dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this final degree project is to investigate how gifted students, in math class, differ from other students and how gifted students can be identified in a school environment. The study further investigates what, if any, accommodations math teachers make to help gifted students develop their full potential. Accommodations are investigated both on an individual level and on a group level. Giftedness in this study is not limited to students who are particularly talented in math. The study instead tries to view gifted students in a broader way regardless of their interest or success in mathematics. As context an overview of previous research on the topics of intelligence, giftedness and accommodations for gifted students are given. To answer the research questions five math teachers, with knowledge of gifted students, are interviewed.sv
