| dc.description.abstract | The behaviour of in ltrating and intergranular uid in an ice body is essential in understanding the de ection of the glacier body. The movement of the uid during deformation is most naturally controlled by compressive stress and temperature gradient which is important in understanding the behaviour of the glacier body. 3D direct imaging technique was used to observe and analyse 3 samples of deutrated ice. This was done to obtain statistical and morphological topology of the samples. From analysis of the samples, heterogeneous uid ow was observed from the image rendering of the deformed sample and the style of uid ow depended on the dominant mechanism of hydrostatic pressure and uid reaction that drive permeability. Based on the observation from this method, the distribution of the uid pathways is in uenced by changes in stress and strain localization. | sv |
