Abstract
Mud fields is a word play on the “in between”, a gap or crack that can be stretched out and
interpreted in many ways. In this project it’s a representation of complexity and ambiguity
and became a swampy field of mud and wildflowers.
The project delves into the exploration and frustration over alienation and societal
disconnection through immersive design, performance, and scenographic sensescapes. It
seeks to navigate abstract circular narratives, allowing props, light, sound, co-creators, and
performers to organically guide the way. Framed within a muddy and ambiguous version of
reality, the project aims to challenge fixed binaries, embrace ambiguity, and cultivate
resonance in a performative space. Drawing from philosophical concepts by Byung-Chul
Han, Donna Haraway, and Hartmut Rosa, the project confronts the expulsion of the
unknown and the quest for meaningful connections in a fast-paced capitalist world.
