Abstract
Using Karen Barads posthumanist agential realism as its main theoretical framework, this thesis examines space, body, time and the “interactive spectator” in their roles as participating actors for the interactive experience of Carsten Höllers exhibition Behaviourin Aalborg. Using a phenomenological and posthumanist approach, the result finds that space, body, time and the “interactive spectator” have significant performative agency for the experience of Höllers interactive artworks. Through the theoretical application of intra-actions and entanglements it is made clear that space, body, time and the “interactive spectator” constitute both the phenomenon that appears through the intra-action, but also the intrinsic performative agencies of each other. Finally, the results argue that Höllers interactiveartworks also can be understood as intra-activeartworks.
